The Indian silk market is flooded with sarees sold under the name of "pure Mysore silk" that are anything but. Synthetic blends, machine-made imitations, and substandard fabrics are passed off as heritage textiles—and most customers have no way to tell the difference. We saw this, and we could not stay silent.
